Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be able to read music before coming to lessons?
No, you will be taught to read music during your lessons, through a mixture of practical use and theory.
Do I need to be able to sing or play the piano already?
No, absolute beginners are completely welcome.
Do you only teach one style of singing?
No, all styles are taught. Whether you want to perform pop, jazz, R&B, rock, classical or musical theatre, you will be taught the correct techniques for each style.
Why do I need lessons? Can't I just learn from teach-yourself books?
Although there are some very good teach-yourself books out there, there is no substitute for having lessons, and these types of books should really only be used in conjunction with lessons. You will be taught the correct techniques that are often hard to describe in print. You are also in greater danger of developing poor technique, which can actually damage your voice, if you try and teach yourself.
